Mobile-first play
A one-button timing mechanic that feels immediate on a phone and also works with a keyboard.
Client build / Aussie Tamworth / 2026
We built a fast, mobile-first basketball game to add participation, challenge and shareability to Aussie Tamworth's Kevin Durant jersey promotion.
Play the ShootoutThe useful problem
A prize can attract attention. The opportunity was to give people something enjoyable to do with it.
Rather than making another promotional landing page, Boss shaped the idea around one familiar action: take a shot, chase a better score and challenge someone else to beat it.
The game supports the promotion without pretending play equals entry. Entry remains clearly handled through the Aussie App, with eligibility, dates and terms kept visible.
What we built
A one-button timing mechanic that feels immediate on a phone and also works with a keyboard.
A 60-second timer, basket count, best score and responsive feedback keep the experience clear while the game moves.
Players can turn a result into a simple challenge for their mates, giving the promotional idea a natural reason to travel.
The experience explains the prize, eligibility, key dates and the path into the Aussie App without confusing play with entry.
Product decisions
The interaction is intentionally narrow. A moving power marker, a visible target zone and immediate shot feedback make the rules understandable without a tutorial. The page then carries the promotional detail around the game: prize information, entry steps, important dates and full terms.
The result
The Shootout demonstrates the kind of focused product Boss builds: one clear idea, an accessible interaction and a practical role inside a real business promotion.
